To you and me, that means their computer system is going to spit out the total time spent on your work by all members of the practice – from the Senior Partner down to the Secretary and Junior Accountants. The pressure is on to bill “all” the time accumulated. Write-offs are inconceivable – at least, not if the accountant wants a pay rise at the year end pay review!

Do you know how to interprete your bill? You can huff and puff and complain that “this is too much”. Can the partner justify the fee charged? Or do you understand the accounting terminology well enough to see through all the “accounting-speak” and understand what your accountant is REALLY saying? Our eBook How to Reduce Your Accounting Fees will tell all …

Preparing a Will is a daunting task. First, you must accept that you are a mere mortal.

By making a Will you will be doing all your relatives and friends a BIG favour … unless you prefer that they suffer ? Assuming they are grieving (sometimes a big assumption!!), your Will helps them get on with life. It gives them certainty at a time they need it.

Making a Will is your chance to say what happens with your wealth (no matter how big or small) you have built up over your life. If you have young children it is also your chance to say who brings them up. If you don’t make a Will, then others may have this say for you … others whom you may not want to have a say. (We ALL have one or two of these in the family!).

Even your choice of Executor could be the difference between “happy families” or the total disintegration of whatever frail relationships did exist. And we’ve seen some real bun fights you would not wish on your enemies.

I’ll leave you with that thought … Answers will be on this website “soon” !!

Here’s the deal … Give the guy 30 minutes of your time for 7 days, followed by 7 days off … then rinse and repeat 7 times. By the end of that, you should know everything you need to know about starting a business online. The cost? Absolutely zilch! At least in $$ terms. But it will cost you precious time … I should know. Having done the 30 Day Challenge (as it was originally known as) in 2009, I know what it takes – time, commitment, hard work and many sleepless nights whilst I sponged up the latest and greatest training.

Who am I referring to? … None other than Ed Dale and the Challenge team! The Challenge is always available online – ready for you to pick up at any time. At the last count, over 173,000 have already signed up for The Challenge. This is great stuff – do yourself a favour and and sign up … At worst you’ll have some fun and learn something you didn’t know before and the best outcome could be that you become the proud proprietor of a new online business and you can sack your boss.

Sometimes it’s astounding how seemingly out of touch our leaders are. Yet every one (well, almost everyone) would say that they support free enterprise and want what’s best for the country. Living in a global economy means that fiscal policies by various governments now know no boundaries and will, sooner or later, affect us all.

Put aside your views on Labour, Liberal, Democrats, Republican, etc and see if the following statements make sense.

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift. You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong. You cannot help the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot further the brotherhood of man by encouraging class hatred. You cannot help the poar by discouraging the rich. You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money. You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn. You cannot build character and courage by taking away man’s initiative and independence. You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do far themselves.

The above statement has been attributed to Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States. They were in actual fact written in 1916 by the Rev. William JH Boetcker, a Presbyterian clergyman and a pamphlet writer.

Does this still hold true today? Leave you to think about it …

Old accountants never die; they just lose their balance.

Over the years, we have built a wealth of knowledge and expertise particularly in the areas of marketing, business development, property development and now internet marketing. Much of what we learnt as Chartered Accountants is still used by us in our various businesses. These information cost us $1,000′s to develop. Now we have decided to sell our intellectual property for a fraction of the price you would pay your accountants. So RSS this website and be kept informed of each product launch and start saving on your accounting fees.
